I just got this product, and so far I am very happy with it. For the price, it is an effective, low wattage flood light covering effectively, one corner of my back yard (reaching about 30 feet back). It seems to have good sensitivity, which will hopefully help keep those opossums and raccoons at bay (and maybe deter burglars, I hope). I have it under an overhang. For those who complain it won’t work if it gets wet – well the manufacturers tell you to put it in a dry/protected spot! I live in South Florida, so hopefully, the cool weather issues some mention won’t be an issue for me. I really love the strong magnet mounts – no tools and it sticks like glue to metal! I would like to see a setting for increasing the time it stays on. But I think the light deserves 5 stars because it does perform as advertised.

Remember, it is in no way a full fledged flood light. The light it provides, however, is impressive for the price. Much better than paying an electrition… and a good light to have around if your power goes out. I’ll check back and add more if I have any problems.

Maxxima 5 LED Occupancy Sensor Light

Purchased this light as a cheaper alternative to a Mr Beams LED Stair light that we love. We use these lights in our bathroom so our dog can use the restroom at night without having to leave a light on. The Maxxima 5 LED light works well but did need a slight fix….I placed the unit on the floor of the bathroom to pick up the motion from our dog and the light would turn on but turn off a few seconds later. I soon figured that the light reflecting off of the tile floor caused the light sensor to turn the LED lights off. This was simply fixed by placing a few pieces of masking tape over the light sensor to decrease the sensitivity. The sensor still works and only turns on when the bathroom lights are off and the motion sensor works well. The output is bright for this type of light and there are so many uses for lights like these around the house for safety i.e. stairway light, hall light, etc.

Overall a good purchase and will consider buying more if the need arises.

This light has it all. It does NOT turn on unless it is dark. It has batteries for backup or NON Outlet placement (put it on a bookshelf). The light is great. I have several of these placed strategically around my house. IF the power goes out, I have light. If I am moving around in the dark, I do not have to turn on real lights and disturb any one else.

I have replaced almost all of my motion sensing, Edison bulb, non-working in a blackout, Home Depot purchased, night lights with these…
